How to reach JNV?
 


In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), Govt. of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (J.N.Vs). Presently the JNVs are spread in 27 states and 7 Union territories. As on date, total 551 JNVs are functioning through out the India. As per recommendation of National Policy of Education 1986 each and every district will have one institution of JNV. These are co-educational residential Schools fully financed by Govt. of India through an Autonomous organization named as NVS. While education in the school is free including boarding, lodging, uniform and textbooks etc. a nominal fee of Rs. 200/- will be collected from Class IX to XII called as Navodaya Vikash Nidhi. However, Girls, SC & ST, Boys, children belongs to the families under Below Poverty Line are exempted from the fee.


 

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti is providing Rs.7350.00 per student per year to meet the expenses on students. The details are as follows:

Boarding cost (for 9 Months) Rs. 5400.00 Per Year  

2.

Uniforms Rs. 900.00 Per Year  

3.

Text books Rs. 150.00 Per Year (Central fund at regional level)

4.

Toilet articles Rs. 350.00 Per Year  

5.

Other Stationary, Traveling allowances ,
Medicine and Exam Fee etc.
Rs. 550.00 Per Year

Establishment of JNV Gajapati
  JNV, Gajapati, Orissa sanctioned during the year 2002-03 and started functioning on 18.1.2003 at temporary site i.e., Women’s College Hostel Building, Friends colony, Paralakhemundi with an active co-operation of District Magistrate Gajapati & other district dignitaries having class VI with a strength of 69. Since our Vidyalaya is presently functioning at temporary site it is considered as ‘B’ category school for which maximum 40 students are allotted every year for admission. This year Vidyalaya is reached to Class X with a total strength of 224 Students from Class VI to X.
